I just finished and posted my new mix for Spring 2010 – Flash Dance 12. This awesome set (a personal favorite) has huge tracks from Lady Gaga, Shiny Toy Guns, Ferry Corsten, Adam Lambert, New Boyz, Rihanna and more. Remixes come courtesy of Digital Dog, Cahill, Wideboys, Donnie Hotwheel, Chew Fu, Axwell, and other huge names of the dance music industry. Check it out after the break, or download it from the Mixes page.
I don’t know how I missed this, but the remix album from Shiny Toy Guns, “Girls Le Disko,” freakin rocks! Major Tom?!??!

This morning, I spent a few great hours DJing for some amazing kids from elementary, Jr. high, and high schools across Houston. I was the background entertainment for the students and their supporters as they participated in an engineering project competition (similar to a science fair). They wowed me, along with judges from some of Houston’s top engineering companies.
Here are my bulletpoint impressions from last night’s Grammy ceremony:
- Love Gaga, but why does she go into convulsions whenever she plays the piano.
- When Beyonce appeared with her own SWAT team, I though she going to do a cover of Janet Jackson’s Rhythm Nation
- Ke$ha looks like Courtney Love circa 1998
- Taylor Swift has the body of a 10 year old boy
- There is a reason Bon Jovi hasn’t performed at the Grammy’s before – his fans don’t have TV’s.
- I, like the rest of the world, already had 3D glasses from watching Avatar, so why didn’t the MJ tribute use that 3D technology, instead of the arts-and-crafts red/blue style?
- Yay for MGMT being nominated for Best New Artist!
- Um, I kinda went to bed after that. I’ll update when I watch the rest on the DVR.

I’m thinking about doing a mix that features several tracks from various artists, all remixed by the same producer. Who’s your fav?
From Dirrtyinc.com
Last week, Lady Gaga’s “Bad Romance” made chart history for logging the most plays within 7 days in the 17-year archives of the tally with 10,859 plays. But Ke$ha took the title from her the very next week! Ke$ha’s Tik Tok clocked in 11,224 plays!
Is it me,or is 11,224 plays overkill? I mean, if I was the artist, I would want like 3 bazillion plays, but as the listener, that just seems a bit much. I like the song, but at 11,224 plays a week, I don’t know how much longer me and the song are going to have a good relationship. I’d like to see what percentage of radio air time (excluding time spent on commercials) is spent playing these two songs. Oh well, congrats to Ke$ha (is it Key-sha or keh-sha?)
Chew Fu, a hot remix producer that is going supernova in 2010, just recently finished remixing every track on Rihanna’s latest release, Rated R. Its exciting to see dance music gaining so much popularity that Def Jam would want an entire album done. I’ve only heard his remix work on the first two singles from the album, Hard and Russian Roulette, but both of those tracks left me wanting more.
Thanks to @chewfu on twitter.
Lets face it, American Idol produces two things, super-stars, and no-hit wonders (I’m talking to you, Taylor Hicks). I wasn’t sure what to think of Adam Lambert when I saw him on last season’s show. He just didn’t appeal to me. But that was last year. This year, Adam is igniting the gay club scene with the title track from his debut album, For Your Entertainment. Bimbo Jones, also in the news for recently releasing a Blake Lewis remix that didn’t make me want to vomit, did another outstanding job with the Lambert single. Check out the remix video after the jump. Read the rest of this entry »
